How
Long In Business
Tri-City Glass & Mirror celebrated its 20th year in business
on April 18th, 2003.
TRI-CITY
GLASS & MIRROR - Yesterday & Today
Its owner and founder, Henry Vincent Guisande (Vince to all who
know him) began what is known today as Tri-City Glass & Mirror
in April of 1983 after working approximately two years in the
trade as a glazier at various shops around the bay area. In fact,
Vince had always been fascinated with glass. During his high school
years, he signed up and took the only glass related class available
to him - stained glass. But he always wanted to work with the
glass he saw around him everywhere.
He acquired his contractor's license and decided to start his
own business. He became known as Home and Auto Glass and worked
out of his garage at 2031 Fairfield Avenue in Fairfield, California.
His work was performed out of the back of his pick up truck and
he did jobs consisting primarily of auto glass replacement, small
repairs, and installation of storm windows. Then in 1984 he opened
his first 100 square foot storefront at 415 Main Street in Suisun
and hired one person to answer the phones.
As his business grew and space was tight in his current storefront,
he moved in 1985 to a 2,000 square foot building at 211 Main Street
and then into a 3,000 square foot location at 209 Main Street
in 1986. Because the name didn't truly define all that his business
had to offer, Vince changed the company name to Tri-City Glass
& Mirror. His wife, Linda, who today heads the sales of residential
windows, joined him in 1987 after leaving her job of many years
with Bank of America.
In 1993 the city of Suisun went through massive redevelopment
in the downtown waterfront area and Tri-City Glass & Mirror
was forced to move out of their location at 209 Main Street and
into a new location at 108 Railroad Avenue in Suisun. They remained
at this location for 4 years.
In 1997, after much growth in sales and service, Vince and Linda
Guisande bought the building at 515 Main Street in downtown Suisun
across from the waterfront. Due to building occupation delays,
they didn't make their move into their new 10,000 square foot
building until July of 1999. They reside at this location today
along with 16 employees and a fleet of 7 vehicles and have experienced
a large growth in the last 3 years and are continuing to grow
every day.
In April 2003 they will celebrate 20 years in business. They
now offer complete residential & commercial glass services
including tub and shower enclosures, custom mirrors, repair work,
sales & installation of retrofit & new construction windows,
and commercial contract work. The only thing they no longer do
is automotive glass.
Vince & Linda share a belief that it's their people who make
a difference & set them apart from the others and who have
made them who they are today. They also share a belief that they
should give back to the community that allows their business to
exist. They do this by donations and sponsorships to various groups
within our community. Give Tri-City Glass & Mirror a call
for all your glass needs. You'll be glad you did.
